Geothermal is the use of the earths stored thermal energy to heat and cool your home. Outdoor temperatures fluctuate with the changing seasons but underground temperatures don’t. Four to six feet below the earth’s surface temperatures remain relatively constant year-round. The average temperature is around 70 degrees year-round here in the Houston area.

Geothermal is not new technology. The Romans used the earths energy in thermal waters to bathe in and heat buildings. The Native Americans used hot spring water to cook with and for medicine. Present day technology and the invention of refrigerant has made this process more direct and a LOT more efficient. We don’t have to rely on hot springs to achieve comfort. We can simply drill and tap into the power of the earths steady ground temperature.
